There once was a small bluebird. His mother tried to get him to leave the nest, for he was getting to big.Though the little bluebird wanted to leave, he was terribly afraid of heights and could not fly away and begin a family of his own. One day, his mother and father told him that if he did not leave within a weeks time, that they would push him out of the nest and let him freeze through the winter. This scared the little bluebird, so all day and even all night he practiced learning how to fly. 'Soon' he thought, 'I will leave the nest and fly south for the winter, and when i come back, i will start a family of my own. I will be the best bluebird ever!' But as the days went by, he wasn't making any much progress. He now had 1 day left, and he barely knew how to lift his wings! "We will have to push you out of the nest in 1 days time" his mother chirped. This only made the bluebird even more determined. "I will fly!" he declared. So he learned to fly, and was out of the nest, but he soon discovered that although many other birds flew south, he might not be able to make the trip now! In the winter, he now knew, that bluebirds stayed at home! He was relieved yet sad, for he had always wanted to travel. Anyway...he started a family of his home and lived through 5 winters after that. The end. (by the way, it's a true fact that eastern bluebirds don't migrate south)
